If your dog is small, you will want to know whether larger dogs use a separate space. Opening hours also matter if you head out late. Seoul’s public dog playgrounds admit registered dogs accompanied by their guardians. Some require an app-generated QR code for entry.
Dogs cannot go off-leash throughout the park. Keep them leashed on ordinary walking paths, and only remove the leash inside the fenced dog playground once all gates are closed. Planning separately for walks outside and playtime inside makes it easier to prepare.

Choosing in more detail
- For a late-night visit — Start with the closest of the always-open Dongjak, World Cup, Choansan, and Boramae playgrounds. Keep Bukseoul Dream Forest for a daytime outing.
- For a choice within Dongjak-gu — Consider Dongjak Dog Park when a dedicated dog drinking fountain matters, or Boramae when you want nearby park restrooms and benches. Dongjak Dog Park also requires Petpass preparation.
- If a dedicated dog drinking fountain comes first — Look at Dongjak Dog Park and Choansan. Plan separately for dedicated dog facilities and shared park drinking fountains.
- For a daytime park outing — Schedule Bukseoul Dream Forest visits outside Mondays and its winter closure.
- If you plan to drive — World Cup Park has the advantage of a playground beside the parking lot. Also consider paid parking hours at Choansan and possible weekend queues at Bukseoul Dream Forest.
Seoul’s playground rules prohibit entry by unregistered dogs, legally designated dangerous dogs, dogs with illnesses, and dogs in heat. Before choosing an area by size, check whether your dog is eligible to enter.
Ask before you go
- 1Can a child take a dog to a Seoul dog playground alone?
Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult guardian as well as their dog. Seoul’s playground rules require guardians to accompany dogs. Do not send a child and dog on their own.
- 2Can I give my dog treats at Seoul’s public playgrounds?
Seoul’s rules prohibit bringing in dog food and treats as well as human food. Leave treats out of playground activities. Do not feed dogs inside the playground.
- 3Can dogs keep playing together as long as they are in the same size category?
Guardians must keep watching to prevent clashes with other dogs. The rules require dogs showing aggressive behavior to be separated or taken out. Stay close even within areas designated by size.
- 4Do I still need to carry a leash inside the playground?
Guardians must keep the leash with them even after letting their dog off-leash. Put it back on when entering and leaving, and bring waste bags too. Keep the leash at hand so you do not have to search for it when heading back onto the park paths.
