At a glance

  • If you can keep Tuesday mornings free, consider a series exploring changes in your body or observing and preserving plants.
  • Sundays bring a DNA experiment, short drop-in activities and a book talk connecting physics and art, each on different dates and at different times.
  • Distinguishing adult-only experiments from programmes that welcome accompanying children helps you decide who to bring and how to learn.

If you can regularly keep Tuesday mornings free, you can carry your observations into the next class. For a single weekend day, choose how you want to learn: an experiment, a talk or a short drop-in activity.

Adult participation — Distinguish adult-only experiments from activities that welcome accompanying children.

Weekday and weekend schedules — Choose between Tuesday morning courses and Sunday programmes.

Course length — Check whether it is a two- or three-session course, a one-day class or a drop-in activity.

Booking method — First-come, first-served applications, online and on-site registration, and visits without booking each work differently.

For a short activity without booking, start with Eoreuni Gwahak Noriteo, a science playground for grown-ups. At Seoul Science Center, science guides introduce dancheong-making, based on traditional Korean decorative painting, and the science of coffee. It is an easy starting point for exploring science through everyday materials.

You can drop in freely during operating hours, unlike a class with a fixed start time. Children accompanied by adults can also participate. It suits a day when you want to try the same activity as your child.

If you want to hear from an author on a weekend afternoon, consider Misulgwane Gan Mullihakja, a book talk about a physicist visiting an art museum. Meet physicist and author Seo Mina at the November edition of Seoul Science Center’s Daljakan Saieonseu programme. The talk explores where physics and art meet.

It suits adults who want to explore the themes of a science book further rather than handle experimental equipment. Both advance online booking and on-site registration are available.

Ask before you go

1Can elementary school children attend the book talk at Seoul Science Center?

Elementary school children must be accompanied by a guardian. The official participation guidance lists middle school students and older, including adults, as the intended audience, with a separate condition requiring guardians to accompany elementary school children.

2Is it too late to attend the book talk once online booking closes?

The official guidance says on-site registration remains available even after online booking closes. The event takes place in the 3rd-floor Star Hall, rather than the 1st-floor Science Hall.

3Can I attend both the hormone course and the plant course?

The morning classes overlap on 10 November. Both courses run from 10:00–12:00 that day, so you must choose one if you want to attend every session.
