At a glance

  • Choose a focus you want to discuss with your companions: old alleys and building remains, homes and schools, or city walls and waterways.
  • The main Seoul Museum of History opens late on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until November 30, 2026, with unstaffed operation on Sundays. Visit each branch according to its own opening hours.
  • At Seoul Saenghwalsa Bangmulgwan, the children’s activity room has separate booking arrangements from general admission, as do guided tours at Gongpyeong Dosi Yujeok Jeonsigwan.

Walking through the remains of old houses is a different kind of visit from viewing a model of the city wall. You might explore alleyways inside an underground exhibition hall, or follow an indoor exhibition with a walk in a park. If someone in your group finds long walks difficult, decide how much ground to cover as well as which subject to explore.

Closing times matter if you set out in the late afternoon. The main Seoul Museum of History’s autumn evening hours differ from those of its branches. For children’s activities or guided tours, check the separate booking arrangements as well as general admission.
