Gangnam dog hotels for the Chuseok holiday: who to call first

Is anywhere open on the holiday itself? Meongpa, on a side street off Dosan-daero in Nonhyeon-dong, is listed as open 24 hours Monday through Sunday, and 24 hours on public holidays too. It is also one of the six businesses Gangnam-gu chose to run its free Chuseok holiday care shelter. Of the five here, its holiday opening is the most firmly confirmed.

It is a combined space doing café, daycare, hotel and grooming under one roof. The notices say it takes not only small dogs but medium and large ones. It opened in August 2024, so it has been through two holiday seasons.

There is no rate table on the website, and nothing about photos or CCTV. A phone consultation is required before visiting, so ask about both on that call. If you have a big dog and you are leaving at night, this is the first number to dial.

Where do you leave a dog that is on medication? Cheongdam Uri Animal Hospital on Samseong-ro is a hospital open 24 hours, 365 days a year, and it runs a hotel and playroom in the same building. If your dog falls ill at night, there is someone upstairs who can treat them. For owners who put safety first, that one fact is the whole difference.

Hotel drop-off and pick-up are listed as 9am to 10pm. Outside those hours a separate night fee applies, which means they will still take you. Visits run from 10am to 10pm and are recommended to stay within 30 minutes.

Rates, photos, CCTV and weight limits are not on the page. Hospital hotels tend to ask about the dog's condition first, so mention the medication and the weight on the call and you will get an answer faster. If you are getting back late on the last night of the holiday, this is the one that allows a night pick-up.

How do you get news of your dog while they are there? Bauraum, on Nonhyeon-ro, sends the day's activities and photos by KakaoTalk every day, according to a Kukmin Ilbo article. The website states 24-hour operation, 365 days a year, with specialists on site around the clock. A system of vet rounds is confirmed in the same place.

Across 400 pyeong it holds daycare, hotel, dog park, grooming and an animal hospital together. Hotel rooms come in three tiers — Standard, Deluxe and Premium — and the notices say to choose by the dog's size and temperament. The article also mentions rooms with their own private yard.

Prices require a phone consultation, it says. Consultations are taken daily from 11am to 8pm. If you want both a hospital and daily photos, this is the first name on the list.

Starmong, in the basement of Segye Building in Seocho-dong, publishes its rate table more clearly than any of the other four. Per 24 hours it is ₩60,000 up to 5kg, ₩80,000 up to 10kg and ₩100,000 up to 15kg. There is no holiday surcharge in the table, so simply ask once whether those numbers hold over the holiday.

The notices say photos of the day are sent to owners by individual message. Nothing is said about CCTV. Karrot lists it as open year-round, with drop-off and pick-up from 8am to 8pm.

The last row of the rate table is 15kg, so there is no guidance for anything bigger. It also runs daycare and training, so your dog is unlikely to sit in a room all day. If the budget has to be set first, use these numbers as your baseline.

Five minutes from Gangnam-gu Office Station, on the second floor of a Nonhyeon-dong side street, Gaereria runs one dog per room. Only one dog goes into each room. You can watch the room's CCTV on your phone 24 hours a day. Video calls are available on request, the notices say. Of the five, this is the clearest answer to seeing your dog's face.

The owner's interview lists Standard rooms at ₩50,000 and ₩70,000. A VIP room for two dogs or more is ₩90,000. The article is from December 2022, so the current figure has to be asked again by phone. Banryeo Saenghwal's listing says large dogs are accepted.

The problem is availability. The same interview says Chuseok and Seollal book out 3–4 months in advance. Call now and you are putting your name on a waiting list. The right order is to secure somewhere else first and wait here for a cancellation.
