TOP 5 KOREA
How Five picks
Five is the one who narrows things down to five places. Pick one region and one situation, dig through public listings and reviews, and keep only five.
Every column starts with a situation
At the top of each column sit five cards like Best whenyou refuse to queue at 11 on a Saturday. Pick the one that sounds like you and jump straight to that place. Situation comes before ranking.
Every place shows hours, price and location in the same spot, so five places can be compared with the same ruler.
The Five score
4.0prices posted, 2 hours of parking / closed Sundays
Out of five stars, in half-star steps. It is not a copy of platform ratings. It weighs six things against each other, and at most one place per column gets full marks.
- Openness: does the place publish its hours, prices, class sizes and equipment?
- Range: how wide is the menu, the class list, the facilities?
- Access: minutes from the station, and is there parking?
- Hours: early mornings, late nights, weekends?
- The tone of reviews: what do people keep repeating?
- Weight of the caveat: for whom is that caveat a deal-breaker?
The Five score is a relative judgment based on openness, access, hours and the tone of reviews. It does not rate the food or the classes directly, and it is not a Google or Naver rating.
Every place gets a caveat
Each place carries one Watch out line: queues, parking, closing days, unpublished prices. Things worth knowing before you go. Choosing gets easier once it is clear who a place suits and who it does not.
Rules for numbers
- Prices, hours, ratings, class sizes and distances are only what we actually read during research. Nothing plausible is invented.
- Platform ratings are always named with the platform.
- Anything we could not read is marked "confirm before visiting".
- Each column states its research date and lists the pages we read. When facts change, the column and its update date change too.
Photos and images
- Other people's photos are never used without credit. Source and link sit under every photo.
- Images made by Five are labeled "Image · Five". They capture a mood, not the actual venue.
